Youth Softball Teams - Central Virginia Lady Mavericks

The Fillies: The Name - A 'filly' is a spirited, young female horse, perfectly representing the Lady Mavericks teams' essence. Focus: Establishing a solid foundation for youth softball development. Core Philosophy: At the 8U level, the Fillies emphasize the joy of the game, essential motor skills, and understanding what it means to be a good teammate under God's guidance. On the field, they learn the fundamentals of catch, throw, and run. Off the field, they acquire important lessons in sharing, listening, respecting coaches, and managing small disappointments with grace.

The Belles: A "belle" embodies grace, strength, and southern charm, infusing elegance into the Maverick grit. Focused on softball development, the 10U Belles are essential members of the Lady Mavericks teams, as they transition into deeper strategic play and advanced skills. On the field, they refine position-specific mechanics and enhance their situational awareness.

Off the field, we guide these young ladies in youth softball to carry themselves with grace, uphold strong morals, maintain academic focus, and demonstrate respectful sportsmanship. They understand that they represent God and the Mavericks everywhere they go.
